COACHING CAREER

Woodward enters his second season with the Dodgers as third base and infield coach…prior to joining Los Angeles, he spent parts of three years on the Seattle Mariners staff, joining the club in late 2013 to work with infielders…he became a permanent member of the staff in 2014 as infield coach and took over as first base coach in 2015…his coaching career began in 2013 as Seattle's minor league infield coordinator...Woodward served as manager of the New Zealand World Baseball Classic qualifier team in February 2016 and was a coach on the 2013 qualifying team.

PLAYING CAREER

The former infielder played 12 Major League seasons with the Blue Jays (1999-2004, 2011), Mets (2005-06), Braves (2007), Mariners (2009, 2010) and Red Sox (2009) and he batted .239/.296/.365 in 659 games…he was the Blue Jays Opening Day shortstop in 2003…he concluded his playing career in 2012 with Toronto's Triple-A affiliate in Las Vegas…Woodward played every position in his big league career except for pitcher and catcher…he was originally selected in the 54th round of the 1994 First-Year Player Draft.

PERSONAL

Christopher Michael Woodward is married to Erin and they have three children - Sophie, Mason and Grady…Woodward graduated from Northview High in Covina and played baseball at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut…has a bachelor's degree in business management from University of Phoenix.
