LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today recalled right-hander Carlos Frias (#77) and infielder Miguel Rojas (#72) from Triple-A Albuquerque and also infielder Erisbel Arruebarrena (#11) from Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. Los Angeles now has 33 players on its active roster.
Frias, who made his MLB debut on Aug. 4, returns to the Dodger roster after being optioned on Sunday. The 24-year-old has limited opponents to a .232 batting average (13-for-56) with 10 strikeouts and only two walks in eight big league appearances this year.
Rojas, 25, will re-join the team after he was optioned prior to Sunday's game at San Diego. In 64 games with the Dodgers, he's posted a .976 combined fielding percentage at second base (3 G, 2 GS), third base (12 G, 9 GS), shortstop (48 G, 24 GS) and left field (1 G).
Arruebarrena, 24, returns for a fourth stint with the big league club and has gone 7-for-28 (.250) with a double and four RBI in 12 games with the Dodgers after making his MLB debut on May 23. He was optioned to Rancho Cucamonga on Aug. 24 and combined to hit .259 with six homers and 32 RBI in 68 games with four Dodger minor league affiliates this year.
