LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today completed their trade with the Cubs, sending minor league right-handed pitcher Jonathan Martinez to Chicago, and optioned infielder Darwin Barney, who was acquired in Monday's trade, to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Martinez, 20, went 7-5 with a 3.47 ERA in 19 starts for Single-A Great Lakes in his fourth professional season after he was signed by the Dodgers as a non-drafted free agent on May 31, 2011 out of Venezuela.

Barney, 28, won a Rawlings Gold Glove Award at second base in 2012 and has a .990 combined fielding percentage at second base, third base and shortstop in five Major League seasons with Chicago-NL from 2010-14. In 542 career games, he has a .244 career batting average with 18 home runs and 146 RBI.
