Stults and Ortiz were so efficient in their innings, both went down to the bullpen to make another 15 throws to build their endurance.
Cactus League records:
White Sox 2-1; Dodgers 1-1
With rain in the forecast, the Dodgers are scheduled to travel to Mesa, Ariz., on Sunday for a game against the Cubs, but familiar Dodgers will be few and far between. Of the seven known position starters, none are expected to make the trip. Clayton Kershaw, the likely Opening Day starter, will be there, as will Rule 5 picks Carlos Monasterios and Armando Zerpa.
Jake Peavy is scheduled to make his first Cactus League start for the White Sox at Camelback Ranch against the Cubs. If the rain in the forecast materializes, then pitching coach Don Cooper and Peavy will decide whether he moves back a day or throws a simulated game in the batting cages. But if the weather holds, then the battle for the last White Sox relief spot also will be on display. Daniel Cabrera, who struggled to find the strike zone during Tuesday's "B" game against the Dodgers, is set to throw an inning, as is Sergio Santos, who struck out the side in his one inning on Thursday against the Angels.
