Sore shoulder could sideline Hanley until after break

LOS ANGELES -- After helping win Thursday night's game, Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez left with a flare-up of his sore right shoulder and likely won't start again until after the All-Star break.

Ramirez had another injection in the shoulder, which has troubled him off and on this season. He was replaced at shortstop by Miguel Rojas in the top of the eighth inning of the Dodgers' 2-1 win over the Padres, even though Ramirez was to lead off the bottom of the inning.

The only ball hit to Ramirez was a line drive that he caught. He didn't field any grounders or make any throws.

Before he left, Ramirez helped win the game. After Chase Headley tied the game in the top of the sixth inning, Ramirez led off the bottom of the inning with a single, stole second, took third on catcher Yasmani Grandal's throwing error and scored on Adrian Gonzalez's sacrifice fly.

Ramirez, in the final season of his contract, has missed 18 starts this year, mostly with nagging injuries to his shoulder and calf.
