Perhaps more surprising, Puig leapt to his feet, hit cutoff shortstop Hanley Ramirez with a powerful strike, and Ramirez easily threw out Rosario, who belatedly tried to tag and advance to third base. Double play.
"I was wondering how it went that far, it sounded like the bat broke," said manager Don Mattingly. "He came in and made a great play after a bad read. A great recovery."
