LOS ANGELES -- The next stop for the Stanley Cup trophy: Dodger Stadium.
The champion Los Angeles Kings will bring the trophy to Chavez Ravine on Tuesday, where they will be honored in a pregame ceremony before the Dodgers take on the Rockies. The ceremony will begin at 6:40 p.m. PT.
The Kings won the Stanley Cup for the second time in three years on Friday night. Dodger Stadium showed highlights of Kings games throughout the playoffs, and the crowd erupted Friday when defenseman Alec Martinez scored the game-winning goal.
"We're very aware of the Kings and proud of them for what they've accomplished," catcher A.J. Ellis said Friday. "And hopefully we can do something similar to that here in a couple of months."
