LOS ANGELES -- With Juan Uribe and Chone Figgins on the disabled list and Justin Turner dealing with an injured calf, Dodgers manager Don Mattingly turned to Jamie Romak on Sunday for his first Major League start at third base.

"It's nice," Romak said of seeing his name on the lineup card for the series finale with the D-backs. "I think you come to the field every day expecting to play. Better that than be surprised."

Mattingly said he doesn't expect Turner to join Uribe and Figgins on the disabled list, calling him day to day.

He also said Uribe is continuing to run, and there's hope that he could begin a rehab assignment this week.

"We're hopeful, but we're not going to push him," Mattingly said. "We've been this long, we might as well make sure he's as safe as you can be."

Mattingly also shuffled his outfield Sunday, starting Scott Van Slyke in place of Andre Ethier in center field. He said he made the switch for a better matchup against D-backs starter Bronson Arroyo. Statistically, however, Ethier has hit .278 against Arroyo in his career, with one home run in 36 at-bats.
