DENVER -- Rockies manager Walt Weiss won a challenge in the seventh inning that took a double away from Dodgers left fielder Matt Kemp, with the Dodgers leading by four runs in a game they won, 7-2, on Friday night at Coors Field.

Kemp thought he had homered off Matt Belisle leading off the inning and even shook hands with first-base coach Davey Lopes as he reached first base before realizing his shot had caromed high off the center-field fence.

He slid safely into second base, but lost contact with the bag as he popped up and was tagged by shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, who took the throw from center fielder Drew Stubbs.

"That's one thing I don't like about replay," said Dodgers manager Don Mattingly, who otherwise has been a supporter of the change. "He's basically safe, he just stands up, one foot changes to the other and they keep the tag on. It's a technicality. If he slides and comes off the base, that's different."

Kemp was given a single on the play.
