SYDNEY -- The Dodgers finally named pitching prospect Zach Lee as their starting pitcher hours before Thursday night's exhibition game with Team Australia.

Also scheduled to pitch is fellow non-roster invitee Red Patterson, two of the five players the Dodgers brought on the trip that are not expected to be part of the official 25-man roster the club must submit to MLB on Friday for Saturday night's opening game against Arizona.

Lee, who began the Spring healing from a strained lat muscle suffered during the Young Guns minicamp in January, is 1-0 in two appearances this spring, with five strikeouts and two walks in 4 1/3 innings.

Lee went 10-10 with a 5.79 ERA at Double-A Chattanooga last year and is expected to open this season at Triple-A Albuquerque.
