GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Dodgers sold utility infielder Justin Sellers to the Cleveland Indians for cash considerations on Sunday.
Sellers was designated for assignment a week ago to make room on the 40-man roster for Cuban shortstop Erisbel Arruebarruena.
Sellers, 28, was the surprise Opening Day shortstop last year after Hanley Ramirez suffered a thumb injury in the World Baseball Classic. Sellers hit .188 in 27 games with the Dodgers and spent most of the season at Triple-A Albuquerque, where he drove in 65 runs in 89 games.
