Fans have the chance to bid on experiences and items throughout the week with the money raised going toward ThinkCure!, an innovative, community-based non-profit that accelerates collaborative research to cure cancers.
One such experience is the opportunity to visit the television booth at Dodger Stadium to meet Scully before a game.
Other experiences include escorting a celebrity guest to the mound for a ceremonial first pitch, a trip next season to the Dodgers' Spring Training home at Camelback Ranch, the opportunity to co-host KABC 790's DodgerTalk with Ken Levine and Josh Suchon as well as the chance to have breakfast with KLOS morning talk show hosts Mark and Brian.
Fans can also bid to have their child participate in the Take the Field with the Dodgers or be the one to announce "It's time for Dodger baseball" before a home game.
Other items include a 2008 team-signed Fender guitar with the Dodgers' 50th anniversary logo; signed jerseys from Manny Ramirez, Andre Ethier, Matt Kemp, Hiroki Kuroda and several of their teammates; and a game-used baseball signed by Clayton Kershaw.
Last year, the inaugural radio telethon raised more than $165,000 for ThinkCure!, which was launched in July 2007 by the Los Angeles Dodgers, the McCourt family, City of Hope, and Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles.
Beginning Monday with the opening of a seven-game homestand, the Think Blue sign that can be seen in the hills beyond left field was changed to read "ThinkCure" in honor of the "Radiotelewebethon" and the official ThinkCure! logo was painted onto the field in foul territory at Dodger Stadium.
