The Dodgers have hosted the Children's Holiday Party for Los Angeles area youth for more than 30 years.
"The Los Angeles Dodgers Children's Holiday Party concludes a historic year for the Dodgers in the community," said Renata Simril, Dodger Senior Vice President, External Affairs. "We are excited to celebrate the holidays with the youth of greater Los Angeles and look forward to another year in which the Dodgers and our city's youngsters join together to play, learn, live and serve."
Each youngster in attendance will receive lunch courtesy of Levy Restaurants, milk courtesy of Dean Foods and a new pair of new shoes courtesy of L.A.-based footwear brand SKECHERS. SKECHERS has previously partnered with the Dodgers for several charitable events at both Dodger Stadium and in the local community. The children will also be treated to a special surprise visit from Santa Claus, who will read holiday stories and take photos with the group.
"This event really celebrates the heart of the holidays and we're very honored to be part of it," added SKECHERS president Michael Greenberg. "As a brand that loves making shoes for kids, it's wonderful to see how our shoes can make a difference for thousands of children across our community."
The Dodgers will host a number of neighborhood elementary schools including Allesandro Elementary School, Ann Street Elementary School, Castelar Elementary School, Clifford Street School, Dorris Place Elementary School, Elysian Heights Elementary School, Logan Street School, Solano Avenue Elementary School, 59th Street Elementary School, La Tijera Academy of Excellence Charter School and children of military members from the Fort Irwin National Training Center.
