Dodgers' outfielders will draw interest at Meetings

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Ned Colletti is fielding offers for his outfielders and Dodgers.com will be at the Winter Meetings with all of the coverage.

Baseball's annual convention opens Monday at the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort, and the Dodgers general manager has a modest shopping list of secondary relievers, a middle infielder and a utilityman.

But that doesn't mean Colletti won't make headlines, as he has a surplus of big-name outfielders on the roster and other clubs have come calling. Colletti said he's open to the idea of trading one of them. Each of the four -- Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier, Carl Crawford and Yasiel Puig -- have already come up in talks with clubs, Colletti said.

Unless it means plugging the hole at third base, Colletti has indicated that to deal an outfielder the Dodgers would need to get better for 2014 and beyond while achieving a goal of adding young talent to the farm system.

The Dodgers also are sure to be linked to trade rumors for starting pitcher David Price, as well as Japanese free-agent pitcher Masahiro Tanaka -- if his club is willing to make him available.

Colletti said he's definitely in search of two more relief pitchers, and possibly a third, even after re-signing Brian Wilson to be a super setup man. The Dodgers need somebody to pick up the innings of non-tendered right-hander Ronald Belisario. And they need a left-hander, whether it's the return of J.P. Howell or a replacement.

Manager Don Mattingly will join Colletti at the Meetings and hold his session with the media Tuesday at 2 p.m. PT.

The Rule 5 Draft will take place on Thursday morning. The Dodgers are not expected to take any players and don't seem worried about losing any.

How do you think Colletti has done so far this offseason? Comments and questions from fans about the Dodgers' moves and what else they can do are encouraged.
