The Dodgers had Kemp lead off the pregame show for the telecast of Wednesday night's Dodgers-Mets game, in addition to the ongoing menu of promotions attempting to encourage voting for their center fielder.
Those include: Fans that vote for Kemp at www.dodgers.com/vote are automatically entered into a sweepstakes to win an autographed Kemp bobblehead. Fans can vote an unlimited number of times. To make sure you get a Kemp bobblehead, the first 50,000 fans to the game on Aug. 19 against the Cardinals will receive a non-autographed Kemp bobblehead.
The club also created a Facebook group called "I Voted for Matt Kemp" that has spread to the 70,000 friends the Dodgers have on their site. Daily e-blasts have been sent by the club to its registered site users to update fans on Kemp's progress and encourage them to continue to vote and spread the word to family and friends. Digital billboards throughout Southern California are encouraging votes for Kemp. And there's cross-promotion with the Angels on both sites to "Vote SoCal," teaming Angels candidate Chone Figgins with Kemp.
The club also is being assisted by its media partners -- Prime Ticket, KCAL, KABC AM and KHJ-9 -- to spread the word as much as possible in the pregame shows and throughout their various programming.
