NEW YORK -- The Dodgers activated pitcher Chris Capuano to start the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader and made room by optioning outfielder Alex Castellanos to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Castellanos started and went 0-for-2 in the first game of the twin bill, which Los Angeles lost, 6-4, to the Yankees.

Making his first appearance since May 29 -- a day before he hit the disabled list with a left lat strain -- Capuano held the Yankees to three singles over six innings during a 6-0 Dodgers win. The lefty threw 51 of his 84 pitches for strikes and didn't walk a batter.

With the move, the Dodgers will carry 13 pitchers, having used four relievers to pitch the final two innings of the first game of the doubleheader.
