Elbert could join Triple-A Albuquerque following that appearance. Still, the southpaw has a ways to go before returning to the Dodgers' bullpen. Elbert has not appeared in a Major League game since August.
"He's going to probably have to pitch a little bit to know he's ready," manager Don Mattingly said before Saturday's game against the Marlins.
Elbert's first elbow operation was to remove scar tissue, and the second was a microfracture procedure to smooth an irregularity and stimulate cartilage growth.
