Roz Wyman to throw first pitch tomorrow

|

WHAT: In honor of the 60th anniversary of Roz Wyman's historic election to the Los Angeles City Council and the Los Angeles City Council declaring May 7, 2013 as "Roz Wyman Day" in Los Angeles, Wyman will throw the ceremonial first pitch before tomorrow night's game against the Diamondbacks (7:10 p.m). The Dodgers will honor Wyman with a video presentation and members of the Los Angeles City Council will join her on the field with the City's declaration.

Wyman, the youngest person and second woman to be elected to the Los Angeles City Council, called for bringing Major League baseball to Los Angeles in her first campaign for City Council in 1953. As a member of the Los Angeles City Council, Wyman is credited with making Los Angeles a major league city by leading the City's effort to bring the Dodgers to Los Angeles. Today, Wyman is the only surviving person involved in negotiating with Walter O'Malley to bring the Dodgers from Brooklyn and build Dodger Stadium at Chavez Ravine.

The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive a Dodger T-Shirt presented by Las Vegas. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.dodgers.com/tickets or by calling 866-DODGERS.

WHEN: Tuesday, May 7, 7:10 p.m.

WHERE: Dodger Stadium
