Hanley collects two RBIs in first rehab game

LOS ANGELES -- Hanley Ramirez began a Minor League rehab assignment with Class A Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday as the shortstop continues to inch closer to a return to the Dodgers.

Ramirez played six innings at shortstop and led off for the Quakes in an 8-3 win against Lake Elsinore. Ramirez went 1-for-3 with a single in his first at-bat and two RBIs.

Ramirez drove in his first run on a groundout to second. He added a sacrifice fly to center in the fifth inning.

It was the first game action for Ramirez since he had surgery on his right thumb on March 22. Ramirez played with a small splint on his thumb to prevent re-injury.
