Dodgers place Capuano on DL, recall Federowicz

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today placed left-handed pitcher Chris Capuano on the 15-day disabled list with a left calf strain and recalled catcher Tim Federowicz from Triple-A Albuquerque. Federowicz made the Dodgers' Opening Day roster and appeared in one game before being optioned on April 9. In four games with the Isotopes, the 25-year-old batted .533 (8-for-15) with two homers and six RBI, while posting a .632 on-base percentage and a .933 slugging percentage.

In addition, Jerry Hairston Jr. elected to drop the appeal of his one-game suspension resulting from the April 11 on-field incident at San Diego and will serve his suspension tonight.
