Dodgers recall righty Tolleson from Triple-A

|

PHOENIX -- In the wake of Thursday night's brawl in San Diego that left Zack Greinke with a broken collarbone, the Dodgers recalled Shawn Tolleson from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday to replace Greinke on the 25-man roster.

After tossing a clean inning in relief Thursday night against Omaha, Tolleson and the rest of the Isotopes watched the fracas unfold while bussing from New Mexico to Iowa. Later on in the evening when the bus stopped for gas, the right-hander got word he would be flying to Arizona to meet the big league club.

Immediately summoned by manager Don Mattingly in Friday's 3-0 loss to the D-backs, Tolleson walked the only two batters he faced in the eighth to force in runs charged to starter Clayton Kershaw.

Tolleson made 40 appearances for the Dodgers in 2012, finishing the season with a 4.30 ERA. Over 6 2/3 innings this spring in Cactus League action, the 25-year-old allowed just one run on five hits.
