Dodgers' signings make eight non-roster invitees
LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers have re-signed injured outfielder Alfredo Silverio and signed six-year free-agent infielders Nick Evans and Ozzie Martinez, bringing to eight the number of Minor Leaguers invited to Major League camp.

Silverio, 25, missed the entire 2012 season after being seriously injured in an offseason auto accident in the Dominican Republic. He suffered a concussion and other injuries, one leading to Tommy John surgery on his elbow in May. He was outrighted off the Major League roster earlier this month.

Evans, 26, is a right-handed-hitting first baseman who played parts of four seasons in the Major Leagues with the Mets. He missed most of the 2012 season after breaking his left hand playing for Pittsburgh's Triple-A Indianapolis affiliate and needing surgery.

Martinez, 24, was sold to the Dodgers in July by the Chicago White Sox and hit .255 in 39 games at Triple-A Albuquerque. He was an 11th-round Draft pick by Florida and was sent by the Marlins to the White Sox as part of the Ozzie Guillen deal.

Earlier this week, the Dodgers signed right-handed pitchers Gregory Infante, Hector Correa, Kelvin De La Cruz, Juan Abreu and catcher Wilkin Castillo.
