Gutierrez worked for the Dodgers from 1968 until 1999. After working part-time in the Stadium Club, she was hired as a nighttime switchboard operator. In 1976, Gutierrez's knowledge of shorthand earned her a promotion to secretary for O'Malley.
In 1983, Gutierrez became secretary for former general manager Fred Claire and served in the same role for former general manager Kevin Malone. She left the Dodgers in 1999 to rejoin O'Malley at O'Malley Seidler Partners until her retirement at the end of 2000.
An East Los Angeles native, Gutierrez later served as secretary for the Southern California Sports Broadcasters.
Away from the office, Gutierrez and husband Eddie reared five children and had 11 grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
