Dodgers place Kennedy on the Disabled List

The Los Angeles Dodgers today placed infielder Adam Kennedy on the 15-day disabled list with a right groin strain and recalled right-handed pitcher Shawn Tolleson from Triple-A Albuquerque. Kennedy was hitting .250 with a home run and 15 RBI in 70 games, including a .342 batting average in 15 July games.

Tolleson, who was optioned yesterday, has posted a 5.40 ERA in 12 appearances in his rookie season with Los Angeles. The 24-year-old has limited opposing hitters to a .244 batting average, including a .100 mark against right-handers (2-for-20).
