Kemp eyeing May 29 return to Dodgers

PHOENIX -- Injured Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp said on Monday he's running at 85 percent on his healing left hamstring and he's eager to play in a Minor League rehab assignment in preparation for being activated when eligible on May 29.

"It feels good right now," said Kemp, who expects to play at Triple-A Albuquerque next weekend.

What also feels good, Kemp said, is the way the team has played without him (5-2).

"I'm overwhelmed with joy," he said. "I'm really proud of the way they're playing. Five guys disabled, four starters, I don't know what other teams could do with that. Everybody has stepped up. It's just amazing how everybody is doing something to help us win. It's exciting to watch.

"It seems we're never out of a game, no matter what. It's exciting to be around this. There are a lot of great things going on in L.A. And the chemistry in the clubhouse is great. Winning helps chemistry and we feed off that and the guys get closer."
