Seanez, 39, will receive $550,000 guaranteed with a possible $750,000 in bonuses to surpass the $1.2 million he earned in 2007. A bigger issue for Seanez was a Major League roster spot, which he received. Last year, he had to make the club on a Minor League contract.
He turned into quite a bargain, appearing in 73 games, going 6-3 with a 3.79 ERA. He was particularly effective in the first half of the season, going 5-1 with a 3.12 ERA. The 12-year Major League veteran is in his second tour with the Dodgers and has pitched professionally since 1986.
