After a rough start to the season, McGowan has been outstanding of late. The 25-year-old fireballer is 3-1 with a 3.20 ERA over his last five starts. In each of those outings, McGowan lasted at least six innings and didn't allow more than three earned runs. In his last start against the Giants, McGowan picked up his third win of the season by allowing just two earned runs on seven hits while striking out six over six innings of work.
Player to watch
Luis Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs against McGowan on June 8. In his career against Toronto, Gonzalez has six homers, five doubles and 16 RBIs in 20 games.
