LOS ANGELES -- Soccer star Mia Hamm and her Dodgers husband, Nomar Garciaparra, have formed a partnership with Children's Hospital of Los Angeles to help patients and their families in conjunction with a national drive to encourage bone marrow donations.
Hamm and Garciaparra will launch their program Sunday at St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, Calif. In addition to the marrow drive, Hamm will conduct a private soccer clinic for recovering cancer patients and announce plans for an annual celebrity soccer match for charity, to begin in 2008.
