LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers are dusting off some throwback uniforms for six midweek home games this year, and fans will determine which ones players will wear. Each of the games will include half-price food and drink for the first time at Dodger Stadium. Fans can vote online for one of three uniforms under consideration from Feb. 7-17, at dodgers.com/throwback. The first option was worn by the Brooklyn Dodgers 100 years ago. It is a 1911 road uniform with narrow pinstripes and the name "BROOKLYN" displayed vertically down the button panel.
The second option is the 1931 road uniform, with a block capital "B" on the front of the jersey. The third option is the 1940s era "Satin" road uniform, which is blue with "DODGERS" script in white. According to the club, the reflective satin fabric was used to be more visible with the advent of night baseball. The winning uniform will be announced on Feb. 25, the day before individual tickets go on sale to the public. The dates of the games with throwback uniforms: April 21, May 4, June 15, June 22, Aug. 10 and Aug. 31. The last time the Dodgers wore a throwback uniform was June 23, 2007, on the road against Tampa Bay as part of a night honoring former Dodgers player and Rays coach Don Zimmer. The Dodgers wore a 1955 Brooklyn uniform that night.
