LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers signed journeyman right-handed pitcher Tim Redding to a Minor League contract with an invitation to Major League camp.
Redding, 33 next month, has pitched for five Major League teams, most recently the Mets in 2009. Last year he pitched in the Minor Leagues for the Rockies and Yankees and in August was released to pitch in Korea.
A starting pitcher who most likely would provide insurance at Triple-A, Redding has a career mark of 37-57 with a 4.95 ERA. He was a 10-game winner with the Astros in 2003 and with the Nationals in 2008.
