Mariners at the plate: Richie Sexson singled home a run in the first inning. Kenji Johjima led off the fourth inning with a home run. Adrian Beltre's ground out brought home the fourth run in the fifth inning.

Dodgers at the plate: Sandy Alomar Jr. went 3-for-3 with a double and RBI. Jason Repko tripled home a run in the second inning and was singled home by Oscar Robles.

Mariners on the mound: Starter Cha Seung Baek allowed two runs in three innings.

Dodgers on the mound: Starter Brad Penny allowed three runs in four innings on seven hits. Aaron Sele allowed one run in three innings. Yhency Brazoban and Joe Beimel pitched scoreless innings.

Up next: Odalis Perez starts for the Dodgers against former teammate Jeff Weaver and the Angels in the Freeway Series opener at Dodger Stadium at 7:40 p.m. PT.

Rafael Soriano starts for the Mariners against their Triple-A affiliate, the Portland Beavers, on Friday at 7:05 p.m. PT. Jarrod Washburn will pitch in a Minor League game.
