Quiet bats hurt solid Tomko, Dodgers

Dodgers at the plate: Rafael Furcal was the only Dodgers player with two hits. The team had eight singles.

Mets at the plate: Lastings Milledge delivered a run-scoring double in the ninth inning to drive in the decisive run. Jose Valentin had reached base on an error. Both Mets runs were unearned. Jose Reyes and Carlos Delgado had two hits each. Delgado is batting .750 in 12 at-bats.

Dodgers on the mound: Brett Tomko pitched six innings and allowed one run and five hits. Eric Gagne pitched one scoreless inning in his sixth appearance.

Mets on the mound: Aaron Heilman pitched five innings, allowing one run on six hits and striking out three in his fourth start. Darren Oliver, Pedro Feliciano, Chad Bradford and Jorge Julio pitched four scoreless innings in relief, allowing two baserunners.

Grapefruit League records: Dodgers 11-7-1; Mets 12-9-1.
